1 Proverbs 18:2 Sunday, November 18th
The Danger of “Self” Proverbs 18:2 Sunday, November 18th

2 Philippians 3:7-21 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

3 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

4 The religion of “self” The state church of China – 3 self church.
Lucifer’s ambition: “I will exalt my throne.” Isaiah 14:12-14

5 The love of “self” When most of what we do is to the end result of self-gain or self-edification.

6 Jesus’ life and ministry calls His disciples to the denial of self, and the eventual death to “self.” In the order of His Kingdom, life comes through death – life follows death, and His Spoken Word Life is the Eternal. Life which transcends death or breaks the cycle of life, death, burial, resurrection.

7 The order of the resurrection according to John’s Gospel –
St. John 20:1-2, 11-23

8 One cannot enter into the Holy Place without first approaching the Sea of Brass (brass laver) – also known as the Sea of Glass by John in Revelation. Before we can approach His Divine Presence, we must first be washed and scourged by His Water, we must see a perfect reflection before we can proceed. I Corinthians 11:27-29

9 A MAN WITHOUT A NATION (Why Little Bethlehem)
A Man without a nation, a King without a Throne He came to be accepted, rejected by His own A Captain with no vessel, the Maker of the seas A baker with no oven, but His Word is formed in me A Builder with no dwelling, a tradesman with no tools A Doctor with no office, His patients were His fools His Cross was built by Romans, the nails from iron and steel The skulls that He created, lined His path up Calvary’s hill

10 A rich man’s tomb He borrowed, the garments weren’t His Own,
And Simon was the servant, who bore Him to His home A cave in the hillside, a rock became the door But no earthly stone could keep Him, even gravity no more.  He rose on Easter morning, The Son to greet His Earth The Groom to meet His Bride, to reveal to us our worth She (Mary) thought He was the Gardener, but soon she came to know The Voice Who made the gardens, was the reason for the glow

11 She ran to tell the others the things that she had seen
They struggled to believe her - it sounded like a dream A woman with a Message? Who knew that such could be? Who once was bound by demons, could now have a Ministry Today they’re still awaiting - His appearing, His Return The One they so adored and loved, their needs He could discern When will the eastern sky burst?...when He vindicates His Own? The Man without a nation - He’s King and has a Throne!

12 The Bride has meet her Lover, Her Groom no longer waits
His Supper is almost prepared, Her home in golden gates Will you be joining us for supper? And can you find the time? The door will soon be closing as we breach the realms of time Eternity awaits us - it cannot be too long Come join this wondrous Nation, and share this glorious Throne!
