EPFL programs have long been based on two pillars, math and physics. They will soon have a third: computational thinking Thought processes based on calculations, data, information and algorithms

8. Computational Thinking Initiative@EPFL
Goal: Make EPFL a frontrunner in education for the digital era
Add an intro to computational thinking course to the first year of all programs starting in fall 2018
Give it the same importance as math and physics
Adapt content developed by computer scientists to all programs
Teach programming skills in a way useful for computational thinking
Provide more specific, coordinated courses for all Bachelor’s and Master’s levels
