2 Childish Christian 1 Corinthians 14:20

3 Don’t be Childish 1 Corinthians 14:20 “Brothers, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.”

4 I speak in more tongues than you do!

5 Instruments have a purpose
1 Corinthians 14:7-8 “Even inanimate things that produce sound –whether flute or harp – if they don’t make a distinction in the notes, how will what is played on the flute or harp be recognized? In fact, if the trumpet makes an unclear sound, who will prepare for battle?”

6 Instruments have a purpose
and so do you! 1 Corinthians 14:9 “In the same way, unless you use your tongue for intelligible speech, how will what is spoken be known? For you will be speaking into the air.”

7 Don’t be a foreigner 1 Corinthians 14:10-11
“There are doubtless many different kinds of languages in the world, and all have meaning. Therefore, if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker will be a foreigner to me.”

8 Amen???? 1 Corinthians 14:16 “Otherwise, if you praise with the spirit, how will the uninformed person say ‘Amen’ at your giving of thanks since he does not know what you are saying?.”

9 You might be saying something good… but maybe not?
1 Corinthians 14:17 “For you may very well be giving thanks, but the other person is not being built up.”

10 “I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all:”
Speaking in Tongues is awesome Paul is challenging the USE of Tongues, not the VALUE 1 Corinthians 14:18 “I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all:”

11 I want everyone to speak in Tongues
1 Corinthians 14:5 “I wish all of you spoke in other languages, but even more that you prophesied. The person who prophesies is greater than the person who speaks in languages, unless he interprets so that the church may be built up.”

12 A Childish 10,000 words 1 Corinthians 14:19 “yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, in order to teach others also, than 10,000 words in another language.”

13 Don’t be Childish 1 Corinthians 14:20 “Brothers, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.”

14 But by how straight your walk is in obedience!
Spiritual Maturity is not measured by the volume of your voice, Or the frequency of tongues But by how straight your walk is in obedience!

15 Don’t be Childish 1 Corinthians 14:20 “Brothers, don’t be childish in your thinking, but be infants in regard to evil and adult in your thinking.”

17 “Then He called a child to Him and had him stand among them.”
“I assure you,’ He said ‘unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3
