Name Role Individual Beliefs about Teaching and Learning Caroline Judy Head of School Asst Head of School All children can learn. Teachers bear a responsibility to find each child’s learning strengths and using those strengths to help him/her access new knowledge. Good teaching is 98% relationship. All children deserve and need a high quality educational experience. Learning should be an active and engaging process that enables students to succeed and motivates/challenges them to reach new heights. Teachers should be well versed in learning styles and delivery of instruction, as well as in ways to create an environment conducive to learning. Enter your name and your grade level. OUR VISION We want to… Empower the faculty and staff at CES to embrace professional development as an avenue for their own professional growth and as a vehicle for raising the educational standards at CES, thereby improving the educational experience for all CES students. Help create a CES that is known as a leader in instructional delivery with a focus on preparing our students for the demands of the 21st century. Think about your shared beliefs and the teaching team you envision for yourselves. What is your partnership’s highest potential? What do you hope to achieve as a partnership? OUR MISSION Work collaboratively with JHU/CTE and the CES faculty to learn about and implement best educational practices (as defined by quality research) necessary for preparing students for the 21st century. Your mission is a concise statement of the action you will take to bring forth your vision. Discuss your mission as a partnership and enter on the slide.

OUR VISION and MISSION Empower faculty and staff, raise the educational standards at CES, and develop a reputation for CES as a leader in preparing students for the demands of a rigorous secondary program and beyond. Link your vision and mission into a fluid statement of how you will move your partnership forward in the direction of your vision. REMEMBER to save your presentation so far.

UNITED Protocol Name operating standards A high performing teaching team is guided by core set of standards that promote positive interactions and efficiency. Operating standards foster a basic discipline for high performance teamwork. BOUNDLESS LEARNING TEACHING: Operating Standards Listen to understand. Complete activities on time. Participate and contribute to the team. Respect each other. Offer help willingly. Be organized and prepared. Help the other one find humor in stressful situations. Extend unconditional and generous grace Review the list of Operating Standard for the Boundless Learning Teaching Program. Discuss what these standards will look like and sound like for your partnership. How would an outside observer know these standards are in place in your team meetings and carried over to individual classrooms? Specific with clear outcomes of what you want to accomplish Measurable indication of what you accomplished Attainable through a series of action steps Results-oriented toward targeted change Time-bound with clear action steps across a manageable timeline TIMELINE SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE TARGETS RESULTS June 7, 2013 Weekly planning meetings More proactive as opposed reactive communication and better support of faculty and staff. Dec. 21, 2012 Read the faculty discussions in the ELC Informed knowledge about the thoughts, goals and progress of the faculty Complete the OLE’s along with the faculty Faculty will see our commitment to this process GOALS: (example) By November 4, our collegial consultation partnership will meet bi-weekly to help support each other as we plan lessons for our grade level as evidenced by our weekly calendars and lesson plans. Discuss two attainable goals for your partnership in the coming months. Use the goal template above to develop your goals. Type in your goals into the template. Our work ethic and commitment is the same. Because of our current jobs, Judy’s work is focused on day-to-day operations and Caroline’s work is focused on big picture and long-range sustainability. G Generate team name that reflects your beliefs The Children Champions N Notify stakeholders (administrators, students, colleagues, parents ) of your team identity Use this slide to establish your team identity. The SIGN Protocol provides a structure for completing this activity: Share 3 – 5 things you enjoy, interests, activities, work styles, etc. Identify commonalities and differences between your team members Generate a team name that reflects your team’s beliefs, commonalities, and content expertise Notify others of your identity by entering your team name on the UNITED Protocol Use a variety of technology resources to create a representation of your team (photos, illustrations, logos, etc.). Make sure that your final slide includes: Team Name, Team Logo, Team Members, Vision/Mission, Goals for the first quarter, and any additional operating standards that are important to your team. UNITED Protocol Determine logistics for working together Logistics is about managing the flow of information, resources, and people’s needs in order to meet the goals of a group/team or organization. It is developing a support system that moves a program forward. Come up with one creative way for meeting and supporting each other as we implement the LIFT initiative.
