1 S/4HANA Cloud (S4HC) The SaaS offering for NZSME
Welcome Me Provide you with an overview of what S/4HANA Cloud is and a look at it in operation Headline Verdana Bold S/4HANA Cloud (S4HC) The SaaS offering for NZSME Christian Wehrle, 23 November 2018

2 What will we cover in this session?
S/4HANA Cloud – The S/4HANA Software as a Service (SaaS) offering from SAP Compare S/4HANA Cloud (S4HC) and S/4HANA On-premise Deployment options Overview of S/4HANA Cloud functionality Implementation approach Extensibility S/4HANA Cloud system demo This session is focused on S/4HANA Cloud which is a Software as a Service offering from SAP, this is not to be confused with lifting and shifting an on premise S/4HANA system into the cloud Compare Look at the deployment options for S/4HANA Cloud and again compare to S/4HANA on premise Have a look at the functional scope of the cloud offering Have a look at the implementation process – what does the landscape look like, what do we need to setup to use it operationally How can the core functions be enhanced What ever time we have left we will jump into a demo system for a look

3 What does S/4HANA Cloud have in common with on premise?
SAP S/4HANA’s code line, simplified data model, and modern user experience are consistent for both cloud and on premise. Designed for in-memory, SAP S/4HANA brings new business capability while simplifying the IT landscape. SAP S/4HANA Cloud On Premise Core code line in the back end is the same - regardless of whether the S/4HANA system is on premise or in the cloud An On-premise or Cloud system share the same set of Fiori apps, but this is where the difference start to occur as the cloud version has the latest apps available each quarter, on prem would only get new apps when the business chooses to go through an upgrade One Code Line

4 Deployment Options - How is S/4HANA Cloud different to on premise?
Cloud ERP ERP in the Cloud ERP OP S/4 HANA Cloud Multi-tenant Single tenant edition SAP S/4 HANA (Private cloud managed by SAP) (On-premise managed by cloud provider or customer) Implementation Greenfield with data migration Greenfield with data migration and configuration migration Greenfield or conversion of existing implementations Functional Scope Business configuration of standardised core ERP and selected LOB processes Full functional S/4HANA scope of core ERP and extended LOB and industry processes Industries Supported In-depth support for professional services, manufacturing, more on roadmap … All industries supported Extensibility S/4HANA Extensibility Framework and extensions via SCP, using whitelisted APIs S/4HANA Extensibility Framework and extensions via SCP, with full extensibility option Customisation, modification, and extensibility possible Innovation Cycle Quarterly 2 upgrades a year, one mandatory within 12 month window of release Annual; speed of adoption on customers’ schedule Deployment Benefits Multi-tenant environment, Lowest TCO and fastest time to value Single-tenant environment Low TCO and fast time to value Customer controlled deployment and implementation efforts Licensing Subscription Licensing BYOL + Infrastructure subscription Perpetual Licensing Infrastructure Share public cloud Dedicated system landscape on cloud infrastructure Customer specific system landscape, runs on SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud Runs on customer preferred infrastructure Verbose slide Most SAP Enterprise Management implementations exist on the far right – perpetual licenses, run in a datacenter owned by the business or hosted in AWS, Azure, Google – it can be customized, modified and the system – database, OS, application – upgrade roadmap is determined by the business and managed by the business – in house or with a partner HEC – similar to on prem but they provide the basis services and infrastructure in a subscription package – still have your own perpetual licenses Cloud ERP Far left is what we are diving into further today – we use the application functionality and get charged a single subscription fee/user/month for that privilege. The system is upgraded each quarter delivering the latest functional innovations. Then there is the single tenant edition, S/4HANA Cloud came out in 2015, the single tenant edition just came out at the start of this year. The single tenant edition supports all industries and this offering allows you to have the full breadth of extensions including use of BAPIs, IDOCs, user exits in the customer namespace.

5 Where does S/4HANA Cloud fit?
SAP Business By Design SAP S/4HANA, edition for SAP Business All-in- One SAP S/4HANA, edition for SAP Business All-in-One SAP Business One One Cloud SAP S/4HANA, Cloud Edition Functional breadth is based on All-In-One but built out with additional features, the subscription model means it pushes down into the Business by Design sector where it becomes compelling for Upper Medium Enterprises and Medium Enterprises to consider it as a solution to support them as they grow Grow from both a business process perspective and from a transactional / system capability perspective

8 S/4HANA Cloud System Provisioning - Two Tenants and No Clients
S/4HANA Cloud Activate Methodology Project realization can only be started on Q-system Discover Prepare Explore Realize Deploy Run Continuous innovation Discovery Access Fit2Standard Analysis Scope and configure Migrate, integrate, extend, test Onboard and deploy Operate, monitor, support Discovery System Two systems make up the landscape provided to the user – Q and P no DEV Trail system available publicly Starter system is provisioned by SAP when the commercials are signed CoA and Org structure plus a few other documents provided to SAP before Q is provisioned P is provisioned straight after Q is made available to the business Starter system removed after 30 days from Q provisioning Project to implement follows the activate methodologies tailored for a S/4HANA Cloud implementation Big difference is the approach in prepare/explore phase … Starter System Q-System Quarterly updates S/4HANA Cloud Trial System Transports P-System Required prior to provisioning Q Chart of Account Organisational Structure

9 S/4HANA Cloud - Implementation approach begins with Fit 2 Standard ...
Fit2Standard: Start with a working system and transact Select scope items – best practice business processes and additional functional features that provide the functionality to support the business processes Review at a transactional level in starter system how this functions fit the process and identify gaps Determine approach to fill the gaps – process change, UI adaptions, in app extensions, using cloud platform Example of configuration unavailable – no new order types – purchase order, production order, sales order, no new condition types, now new pricing procedures

10 S/4HANA Cloud - Configuration - Data - Testing
Example of what SCCUI looks like LTMC – no extensions or new objects possible Automated Test Tool – import to use for quarterly upgrade cycle All managed through the Manage Your Solution app
