2 Established in 1992 NPORS is now one of the leading Operator Registration Schemes in the UK.
Working to demonstrable national occupational standards NPORS is recognised by Build UK, CECA, etc. as an accepted card scheme in the construction, civils sectors, and is also a founder member of the UK Accrediting Bodies Association covering the industrial sector

3 NPORS training and testing is conducted in accordance with published course objectives and learning outcomes which are derived from the National Occupational Standards

4 Covering all industry sectors including construction, civils industrial, port and marine, utilities, oil and gas, agriculture NPORS can offer employers flexibility whilst maintaining standards This very importantly offers employers a credible choice when deciding which card or certification they wish their employees to hold

Since UKCG recognition in 2014 a large number of employers have invested in NPORS training

NPORS have a moral obligation to all employers and operators who hold the NPORS card We decided to meet the requirements of the CLC decision so as not to further disadvantage NPORS card holders

Rumours The other industry sectors that we cover are not affected therefore the traditional NPORS Operator Card is still in place to cover these sectors of industry

11 How does it work? Current NPORS construction card holders can apply for a transitional card via For those who do not hold the requisite (S)NVQ this card will be valid for two years from the date of application For those who hold the requisite (S)NVQ this card will be valid for five years from the date of application

12 How does it work? New entrants to the scheme have been subject to the new requirements since 1st October 2016 Basic training and testing undertaken and Trained Operator Card issued valid for 2 years from date of test

14 How does it work? During this period the operator will be required to register for and achieve the (S)NVQ relevant to the categories held on their Trained Operator Card On achieving relevant S(NVQ) operator will be issued with Competent Operator Card valid for 5 years

How does it work? For those who hold the requisite (S)NVQ the Competent Operator Card can be applied for valid for 5 years from the test date On successful completion of NPORS Operator test operator will be issued with Competent Operator Card valid for 5 years Also CPD Record and Operator Logbook will be issued

17 What are the advantages of the NPORS Card?
Initial training and testing will remain the same and will not be de-regulated Any training that leads to an NPORS test can only be delivered by NPORS registered instructors Employers will have reassurance that the training delivered is by someone actually qualified to do so
