2 A god who thinks and acts just like me.
Ex. 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image — any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, and set them in order before your eyes. ~ Psalm 50:21

Ex. 20:4 Isa. 44:13 The craftsman stretches out his rule, He marks one out with chalk; He fashions it with a plane, He marks it out with the compass, And makes it like the figure of a man, According to the beauty of a man, that it may remain in the house. 6 God Looks beyond the externals!
Sacrifices & Offerings were for their benefit! Right forms in worship = being right with God. Check list only Jewish leaders had Jesus crucified, all the while wanting to stay holy for the Passover. Heb. 4:13; 1 Sam. 16:7 “You thought that I was altogether like you” ~ Psa. 50:21

7 God is obligated by man Matt. 5:46 – love those who love you Luke 14:12-14 – invite those who can repay Matt. 7:22 – “in your name” 1 Sam. 15:21 – to sacrifice to the Lord 1 Sam. 15:22 – To obey is better than sacrifice “You thought that I was altogether like you” ~ Psa. 50:21

8 God is obligated by man We don’t obligate God even when we meet His requirement! What does God “owe” us? Acts 8:22 – “if perhaps” Joel 2:14 – “who knows if He will turn and relent” Matt. 3:9 – “We have Abraham as our father” Rom. 2:4 – Do not despise “You thought that I was altogether like you” ~ Psa. 50:21

9 God is obligated by man Luke 17:10 ~ So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, “We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.” “You thought that I was altogether like you” ~ Psa. 50:21

10 God is obligated by man Eph. 2:8-10 ~ For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. “You thought that I was altogether like you” ~ Psa. 50:21

11 God does not accept wickedness & worship

12 God’s silence means his acceptance

13 "He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God." ~ Psalm 50:23 NASU … because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened ~ Romans 1:21 NKJV
