1 Psalm 19

2 “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.”

3 What bears witness that there is a God (Psalm 19:1)?
Do a little research to find out a little more about the stars, including how many there are then read Psalm 147:4 and Isaiah 40:26!

4 “Day to day pours forth speech,”
“And night to night reveals knowledge.”

5 “There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard
“There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.”

6 “In them He has placed a tent for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.”

7 “Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.”

8 Is there any place on the earth or are there any people who have not seen or heard this witness in the heavens that there is a God (v. 3-4)? Read Romans 1:18-22. What has been made plain to mankind? Is there an excuse for denying God? What choice did mankind make that caused their thinking to become futile and their hearts to be darkened? Compare Rom. 1:22 with Psalm 14:1. How does God describe the person who denies His existence? In Rom. 1:25, what did mankind willingly exchange, and what was the result? In what way do you see people around you serving created things rather than the Creator?

9 Circle the words that describe God’s Word
Underline the words that tell what God’s Word does “The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.”

10 Read Rom. 3:19-23 which also speaks of God’s law.
Who is guilty and accountable to God? What does God’s law bring to our knowledge? How do those who believe receive the righteousness of God? How do we receive this faith according to Rom. 10:17? If you have received God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, He has given many promises for your future. Insert your name in these verses to claim His promises: 1 John 3:2 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 Psalm 16:11

11 “They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;”

12 “Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.”

13 “Moreover, by them Thy servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward.”

14 Compare Psalm 19:10 with Proverbs 8:10-11.
Describe the value of God’s Word. What does our obedience to God’s Word bring (v. 11)? In John 14:21 what is our reward for obedience to God’s Word? Read Philippians 3:7-8. Describe how the Apostle Paul felt about knowing Jesus Christ.

15 “Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.”

16 I know what You say, God, but I’m going to do it anyway
“Also keep Thy servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.” “Deliberate” I know what You say, God, but I’m going to do it anyway
