Scientific and research activities include studies on the exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents and on the risks for human health and the environment (water, air, soil).
Research Activities focus on PBT substances (PCB, PAHs, Dioxins), pesticides and residues, biocides, metals, powders and fibres, endocrine disrupting chemicals, toys and children’s articles, biomarker.
Defines guidelines for the implementation of environmental monitoring and biomonitoring programmes.
Prepares assessment and provides scientific consultancy services at national (ministry of environment, ministry of health) and international level (EU, IARC, NATO, OECD, UNEP, WHO) and contributes to national and european legislation.
