3 Meditation Numbers 21:4-9  They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way; 5 they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

4  6 Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died. 7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 The Lord said to Moses, “Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.

7 *Call to Worship One: Come, you who remember being unhappy, bitter, or impatient. Many: Come, you who remember being alone and in the wilderness. One: Come, you who feel as if you’ve been bitten by snakes and poisoned. Many: Together let us worship God who brings healing, hears and knows our pain, sin and shortcomings. Come let us praise God who sent Jesus that we might know forgiveness, salvation and eternal life.

Thank you for being a God of Grace – giving us undeserved love and forgiving us when we confess our sins and turn towards you. Your love is indeed amazing and wondrous. Amen.

17 Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

18 but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

19 Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
Glory Be to the Father WORDS: Lesser Doxology, 3rd-4th cent. 70 Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;

20 as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

21 Offering Our Gifts to God

22 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow
94 WORDS: Thomas Ken, 1674; adapt. by Gilbert H. Vieira, 1978 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia!

23 Praise God, the source of all our gifts
Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

24 There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy (Verse 1)
121 WORDS: Frederick W. Faber, 1854 1. There’s a wideness in God’s mercy like the wideness of the sea; there’s a kindness in God’s justice, which is more than liberty.

25 There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy (Verse 2)
2. There is welcome for the sinner, and more graces for the good! There is mercy with the Savior; there is healing in his blood.

26 There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy (Verse 3)
3. For the love of God is broader than the measure of our mind; and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.

27 There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy (Verse 4)
4. If our love were but more simple, we should rest upon God’s word; and our lives would be illumined by the presence of our Lord.

28 Scripture Reading John 3:13-15
 13 No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
