Name: Specific Name of Rock Sample Type of Rock: Sedimentary, Igneous, or Metamorphic Classification & sub Category: Sedimentary – clastic, organic, or chemical Igneous – intrusive or extrusive Metamorphic – foliate or non-foliated Location: Where did you find the rock? OR Where can the rock be found? Uses: What is the rock used for? 4 In addition to a 3, your project is extremely through, including having a correct rock classification category for ALL rocks. 3 Your project must have the following criteria: 12 rock samples, cleaned and numbered 12 index cards with information (see example) Majority of rocks have been correctly identified (name) All rocks have been classified as either sedimentary, igneous or metamorphic.
