1 A Culture of Hate

2 Friday Sermon on Official PA TV
[Click on picture for video, JewsAreJews.wmv, 0’39”] A significant and dangerous message of the Palestinian Authority is that Jews are to be hated and killed because of an inherently evil nature. Jews are said to be the cursed enemy of Allah, and killing Jews has been repeatedly presented as a religious obligation. PA leaders preach that the battle with Israel is not merely over borders but to kill Jews - thereby bringing the Resurrection. The Hebrew Bible, the Talmud, and Jewish traditions are distorted, presented as having hateful and corrupt content. In this official, televised sermon, Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya, Rector of Advanced Studies at the Islamic University in Gaza and a member of the Sharia [Islamic law] Rulings Council, says that Jews "must be butchered and must be killed.” Source: Palestinian Media Watch,

3 Glorifying ‘Martyrdom’
Left: A poster commemorating martyrs of Force 17 (Yasser Arafat's presidential guard) who were killed in April 2002, found hanging in a classroom in Nablus (Ibn Qutaybah primary school for boys), November 2003 ( eng/sib/4_04/y_apc.htm) Bottom: A poster found hung on the front door, walls and notice boards of al-'Ein mosque in al-Bireh. It honors two shaheeds (martyrs): students, both Hamas members, who had carried out two separate suicide attacks on the same day (September 9, 2003). On the right is Ramez Fahmi Izz al-Din (Abu Salim) al-Rantisi , a member of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam, who carried out the suicide bombing attack at the Hillel Café in Jerusalem . On the left is Ihab ‘Abd al-Qader Mahmud al-Rantisi , who carried out a suicide bombing attack at a bus stop near Tserifin , in the center of the country near Ramla. The attacks resulted in 15 deaths and scores of wounded. In the center is a picture of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, the Hamas leader , above the Hamas emblem. The inscription at the top of the poster is a “suicide bombers'” Qur'an verse, one of the most frequently quoted on posters of this kind. The motto of Hamas (emphasizing Izz al-Din al-Qassam) appears at the bottom of the poster, and reads, “This is indeed a jihad [holy war], [leading to] victory or death for the sake of Allah [istishhad].” (Source: Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, [Click on the bottom poster for embedded video, Wedding.wmv. 0’38”] Source: Palestinian Media Watch
