6. Chart 4 Bandstahlservice Hagen Qualtity, flexibility and services is what shapes Bandstahl-Service Hagen since more than 20 years. Located in the outskirts of the Ruhr area, the company established itself by cooperation with companies of the local steel branch already soon after the foundation. The take over by the Itochu Group, one of the world´s leading trading companies, went along with an expansion of the company. An example for this is the inauguration of a second slitting line and the purchase of a FIMI line which meets even the highest quality requirements. After the take over by executive managers early 2003, Bandstahl-Service Hagen also benefited from these investments. Today in addition to good service and products with quality at a high level, the company is characterised by a huge flexibility. Customer orientation is the main principle for all of our staff. Chart 7 Bandstahlservice Hagen Inspections for incoming and outgoing material Continuous laboratory examinations in our own laboratory Bandstahl-Service Hagen makes continuous quality as living principle from the inspections of incoming goods, the supervision of the production up to the final inspection. This is the principle for all staff members, but especially for the material test engineer, who checks the chemical and physical properties of the used materials in our own laboratory. In addition to the well-established measuring methods, Bandstahl-Service Hagen uses a spectrum analysis tool and a coating thickness tool. Quality

Chart 7 Bandstahlservice Hagen Computer-operated production controll Documentation of all processes Anti coil break device Continuous thickness record For Bandstahl-Service Hagen, quality stands for the properties of the material as well as the quality of the process and the handling. An Anti Coil Break Device prevents coil breaks. Smooth cut edges are standard as well. This is why the scrap rate is low and customer claims are an expection. In the exceptional case of a claim Bandstahl-Service Hagen shows another strong point. By means of electronic documentation of the data of all processes, charges and coils, the fault analyses is optimesed. The final good is linked to the used mother coil without fail. Quality
