Relevant steps of the surgical procedure. (A), The Vecchietti straight thread-bearing cutting needle reaches subperitoneally the space between the bladder and rectum, then traverses it until reaching the pseudohymen. (B), The needle perforates the pseudohymen centrally and hooks the thread attached to the acrylic olive. (C), One thread is withdrawn subperitoneally from the abdomen; the loose one is hooked to follow the same path contralaterally. (D), A view of the pelvis at the end of the operation. The course of the threads is clearly visible at the level of the uterine rudiment.
