Have you ever seen a black and white thing waddling around the beach? Look again because it might be a rockhopper penguin. Penguins are amazing birds even though they can`t fly. That doesn't mean its not a bird. The penguin that you`re about to see is the rockhoper penguin. Now let me tell you about it in a better way.

The rockhopper penguin has a thing that looks like a crow but its not. Its called a crest. The crest is ether yellow or orange. There about 1 foot tall and their so cute and smart. But don`t get fooled. The rockhopper penguin can get a little cranky when you bother its habitat.

Now that we got on the beach lets look out for rock hopper penguins. They only like beaches with rocks and grass. They hate the cold. But if its just a small breeze they`ll love it. Those kind of beaches are good for the penguins and its health. Its good for them because the rocks help the penguin lep form rock to rock to rock. Thats why there called rockhoppers. The beach helps because with out it the rockhoppers would problibly be exscinded.

Look over there a rockhopper penguin is eating a fish. That`s what I was going to talk about next. The penguins life cycle and food chain. The life cycle of the rockhopper starts out as an egg. Then the egg hatches after two months. Its now called a chick. After the chick stage it starts growing adult feathers and there water proof. The rockhopper has two enemies. They are the shark and the elephant seal. Thats all I can tell you about the food chain and the life cycle the rockhopper pengiun.

I `ll remind you one more time. If you ever see a black and white thing waddling around the beach. Look again it might be a rockhopper penguin.
