“A Simple Question”

2 In an increasingly-complicated world, we secretly long for simplicity.
Out of the endless options & choices that face us daily; we long for clarity, guidance, and purpose.

3 Some “Simple Questions” with Huge Consequences:
Do you love me? Will you marry me? Would you like to work here?

4 The Easter Story raises an age-old question:
“Do I believe that the Resurrection of the dead is even possible?”

5 and the Essenes, they were among the Jewish leaders.

6 he raised someone from the dead.
During his ministry, Jesus demonstrated his power through many signs and miracles; including three recorded incidents where he raised someone from the dead.

8 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out

9 John 11: 21-27 When confronted with the death of his friend Lazarus,
Jesus comforts his sister Martha and asks her a “simple question.”

with an implication that actions based on that trust will follow”

they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others… 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.”

15 Jesus affirms the faith of all who believe
John 20: 24-29 Thomas refuses to believe Jesus has risen from the dead without physical proof. Jesus affirms the faith of all who believe in him without proof.
