Phases of Love Relationships
11
Mark 12:28-30 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
12
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 10:32-34 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering…
13
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 12:1-3 …let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles…Let us fix our eyes on Jesus… Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
14
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 10:26-29 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
15
Are we maintaining or maturing?
16
Hebrews 5:11-6:1 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! …Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity…
17
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 10:19-22 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body. …Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience…
18
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 2:1-3 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away …how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?
19
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 3:14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
20
LOVE Relationship with God Hebrews 4:11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest…
21
Love Connection vs. Mutual Affection Revelation 2:2-5 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
22
Summer Challenge: Spend some special, extended time with God to RECONNECT! Be reconciled! Draw near to God! Come with full assurance and faith Rid yourself of a guilty conscience, confess your sins and allow the blood of Christ to cleanse you inside and out!
23
Relationships in the Body of Christ Mark 12:31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.
24
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 10:32-34 Remember those earlier days… …you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison… …you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.
25
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 3:12-13 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
26
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 12:15 See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
27
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
28
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
29
Relationships in the Body of Christ Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
30
Summer Challenge: Take the time to build some memories with your brothers & sisters in Christ Encourage one another. Help each other. Let no bitter root grow up to divide Be open with one another (Why? Sin easily entangles, our hearts will harden!) Spur one another on to love and good deeds Do not give up meeting together!
31
Keep the fire burning!! Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire."
