2. Gods Love

3. Heb 1 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory & the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven. NIV

4. 1) God is the one who is Love- I John 4 16 And we have known & believed the love that God has for us. God is love, & he who abides in love abides in God, & God in him.

5. God does not just show love, He is the very definition of what love is & the standard by which love is known and judged.

6. The Bible says love, & therefore God,… Is kind (I Cor 13) Does no harm (Rom 13:10) Suffers long (I Cor 13:4) Does not seek its own good (I Cor 13:5)

7. The Bible says love, & therefore God,… Is not fearful (I John 4:18) Is not hypocritical (Rom 12:9) Is sacrificial (I John 3:16) Shows compassion (1 John 3:17)

8. The Bible says love, & therefore God,… Is rich in mercy (Eph 2:4) Has power to keep us (Rom 8:39) Is given richly (Rom 5:5) Is given freely (Hosea 14:4) Brings quiet (Zeph 3:17) Is faithful (Deut 7:7-8)

9. Jeremiah 31 3 The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

10. Jeremiah 31 4 Again I will build you, & you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, & shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.

11. 1) God is the one who is Love- I John 4 Do I see God as a God that is love?

12. 2) Jesus demonstrates the love of God- John 15 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. NIV

13. Jesus shows us, in words, works and attitude, what Gods love looks like. He is not compelled to sacrifice Himself, but is driven by and guided by His love for the world.

14. John 10 17 Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

15. John 10 18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, & I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father

16. Love cannot be scripted, love that is duty is no love at all. Love is always voluntary, given by a heart that is free to choose to, to want to, and desire to, love.

17. Eph 5 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us & given Himself for us, an offering & a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

19. Gods Love
