O God, gladly we live and move and have our being in you. Yet always in the midst of this creation-glory, we see sins shadow and feel deaths darkness:

around us in the earth, sea and sky, the abuse of matter; beside us in the broken, the hungry and the poor, the betrayal of one another; and often, deep within us, a striving against your Spirit.

O Trinity of love, forgive us that we may forgive one another, heal us that we may be people of healing, and renew us that we also may be makers of peace.

(silent confession) Amen.

… and he said to him, Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding robe? And he was speechless. Matthew 22:12

We believe in Jesus Christ, son of the one God, maker and sustainer of earth, sea and sky. Born of Marys womb, faithful to the God of Abraham and Sarah, Jesus healed the sick, served the poor, and proclaimed heaven and earth.

Condemned by the religious, crucified by the state, he died but transformed even death and rose to life everlasting. He blessed the disciples with his holy spirit and sent them forth, east and west, north and south.

We commit ourselves to Jesus, to one another as brothers and sisters and to his mission in the world in the grace of the holy spirit. Amen.
