1 Achievement Standard: 90726 (3.7) Complete independent research on a language or literature topic and present conclusions in writing Internal Assessment Credits: 4 Due: Week 6 Term 3 NOTE: Use the report you write for this task as the basis for your seminar presentation for A.S. 3.6 in Week 8.

Select relevant information from a range of referenced sources. Present, in an appropriate written format, well-supported conclusions that include judgements that are convincing and well organised. Excellence Propose research questions that expand understandings of a topic. Select relevant information from a range of referenced sources. Present, in an appropriate written format, well-supported conclusions that consistently develop perceptive and integrated judgements.

3 Our Task is: In Search Of an idea or theme presented in texts. STEPS TO TAKE 1.Focus on one or more texts featuring themes that are important to writers and directors. 2.Using text(s) studied in class as a starting point, investigate one of these themes based on several texts you have chosen. 3.Develop at least THREE research questions that expand understandings of your topic. 4.Select relevant information from a range of referenced resources. RESEARCH LOG – USE SAME LAYOUT AS IN EXEMPLARS 5.Write a report of at least 700 words, making connections between the texts and developing judgements about the importance or significance of your chosen theme.
