Excel Spreadsheet Break-down 1 – Rows use numbers This page is for personnel not familiar with Excel spreadsheets 2 – Columns use letters 3 – Individual Cells (this one is cell 6 – F). Each cell on the page is referenced by its row number and letter. Next slide begins the Matrix guide training 4 – Each sheet (entire page shown) is called a Worksheet.

Hand PPE Selection Matrix Hand PPE Selection Matrix example of how to use the Matrix rows and columns Row # Next slide shows the row and column selection Row 14 (bottom line in picture) shows the user that it is: HMUG Chemical Group – 10 (column A) HMUG Chemical Group Name – Fuels (column B) Hand Protection Chemical Recommendation – Neoprene, Nitrile, or Natural Rubber (column C) Column M (Multi-Layer Laminate) is YELLOW may also be used. Column D, E, G, H, I, L are GREEN and should be the PPE used Columns F is RED which signifies DO NOT USE!

Following row 14 over to the first GREEN cell (identifies the column that is recommended). Follow that cell up to row 3 provides the user with a glove type (NITRILE (GREEN OTTO Fuel) Gauntlet Gloves ). Hand PPE Selection Matrix Other glove types that could be used When there is multiple green cells the user has a choice of gloves that may be used. In the example you can see that all but column F could be used. Note: Column M (Yellow) is OK to use as an alternative or in addition to the specific glove. Click NITRILE (GREEN OTTO Fuel) Gauntlet Gloves Row 2, Column D, to hyperlink to the glove page for information on that PPE. NEXT SLIDE simulates that the hyperlink was clicked

Hand PPE Selection Matrix More Info Hyperlink In several columns the cell is colored BROWN. Inside the cell is More Info which is a hyperlink to a new page that provides the user the General Recommendations worksheet that has an even greater break-down of what gloves work best for a specific chemical. Tabs may be used when selecting specific gloves if the hyperlinks do not work. Clicking any tab will advance the user to that worksheet. Individual Worksheet Tabs Along the bottom of Excel spreadsheets are tabs
