so their materials had to be cheap.

This tea pot was made during the 18th century in protest of the Stamp Act.

Tea act gave the British East Indian Company the right to ship tea to the colonies without paying most taxes.
Also allowed the company to bypass colonial merchants making the tea cheaper than other tea in the colonies.

Colonists blocked all ports from the East Indian Company Ships.
Colonists led by Samuel Adams, also dressed as native Americans dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor in protest 2-2A

14. Intolerable Acts of 1773 Laws which restricted the colonists rights
Impartial Administration of Justice Act, which allowed the royal governor of a colony to move trials to other colonies or even to England if he feared that juries in those colonies wouldn't judge a case fairly
