3 Nerve Cells What do nerve cells get or need from a hamster?
food, oxygen, protection Why does a hamster need nerve cells? To send and receive messages throughout the body; coordinate the whole body How does this cell’s shape (or form) related to its function (or job)? It has extensions for receiving and sending messages (nerve impulses)

4 Guard Cells Guard cells have chloroplasts. Their main job is to open and close the leaf’s stomata.

5 Guard Cells What do guard cells get or need from a lily plant?
Food, oxygen Why does a lily need guard cells? to control the opening and closing of stomata (holes in leaf); let CO2 & O2 in and out Guard cells have chloroplasts. Their main job is to open and close the leaf’s stomata. How does this cell’s shape (or form) related to its function (or job)? It can bend/move to open & close the holes
