1 Oct. 2018 Project: IEEE P Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title: [Input for coexistence document discussion] Date Submitted: [16 Oct, 2018] Source: [Joerg ROBERT] Company [Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuernberg] Address [Am Wolfsmantel 33, Erlangen, Germany] Voice:[ ], FAX: [ ], Re: [] Abstract: [This document shall give guidance during the coexistence assurance document discussions] Purpose: [Discussion within TG4w telephone conference call.] Notice: This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE P It is offered as a basis for discussion and is not binding on the contributing individual(s) or organization(s). The material in this document is subject to change in form and content after further study. The contributor(s) reserve(s) the right to add, amend or withdraw material contained herein. Release: The contributor acknowledges and accepts that this contribution becomes the property of IEEE and may be made publicly available by P Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

2 Input for Coexistence Assurance Document Discussions
Oct. 2018 Input for Coexistence Assurance Document Discussions Joerg Robert (FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg) Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

3 Oct. 2018 Motivation The TG4w draft specification has to be accompanied by a coexistence assurance document that show the effect of 4w on existing IEEE standards in the relevant frequency bands This document shall be the basis for the discussion what the coexistence assurance document has to include Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

4 Existing Coexistence Assurance Docs.
Oct. 2018 Existing Coexistence Assurance Docs. General guidance is given by : Existing documents g: DCN 15-10/668r5 k: DCN 15-12/314r1 q: DCN 15-14/709r0 u: DCN 15-16/286r0 v: DCN 15-16/569r0 Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

5 How to Create the Document ( I / II )
Oct. 2018 How to Create the Document ( I / II ) Proposal: Use the k coexistence document as template as we are defining an amendment to the k FSK PHY Coexistence work with may be very limited, as all PHYs have already been verified against 4k Only missing system is 4q, but its coexistence document already contains all required information and can be referenced Question: Is this a feasible approach? Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

6 How to Create the Document ( II / II )
Oct. 2018 How to Create the Document ( II / II ) The k does coexistence document does not contain any work wrt. IEEE ah, which did not exist when 4k was developed New simulation results against 11ah are most likely required Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

7 Simulations Against 802.11ah
Oct. 2018 Simulations Against ah Proposal: Use MCS modes currently under discussion in sub-GHz SG Limit parameter sets to worst case scenarios in order to save time Questions: What are worst case parameter sets? What kind of propagation models should we use? What about coding an channel estimation? Who can do the work? Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg

8 Oct. 2018 Proposed Next Steps After agreeing on content Joerg will create a skeleton document Using this document the will be contacted for guidance In the meantime the required simulation results will be created Joerg ROBERT, FAU Erlangen-Nuernberg
