Idioms - a phrase or groups of words - has a special meaning that is different from what it appears to mean Example: Lately it has been raining cats and dogs. “raining cats and dogs” means that it is raining hard When we determine the meaning of Idioms we use Context clues Common sense: could this really happen? Lets CFU! Concept Present definition of Idiom and give example Tell meaning of idiom RAJ: What do we call a phrase or a group of words that have a special meaning of own? Write it on your white board What did you write:__ call on non volunteers How do you know its an idiom?
