1 Halloween Social Skills

2 Acknowledge the Costumes/Decorations of Others
It is polite to notice and compliment the costumes or decorations of others. If a friend, family member, or trick-or-treater at your house has a costume on, think of something specific and nice to say about that costume. If you visit a house of someone else that is decorated, think of something specific and nice to stay about their decorations. Do not touch the costumes/decorations of others without asking first.

9 Trick or Treat Social Rules
Ring the bell only once when you come to a house. If you are knocking, do one medium-heavy set of knocks (3-5 taps). Then wait. Say “Trick or treat!” with a smile on your face and a 3-4 voice volume level. Take one piece of candy when the candy bowl is offered. If the person says you can take more, take only what they say. If you don’t like the type of candy they have, keep smiling and take one anyway. You can give this to your parent, a sibling, or a friend later. It shows you are thankful. Say “Thank you!” before you leave.

10 Trick or Treat Practice!

11 Spectrum Academy Expectations: Costumes
You can wear your costume to school. Your costume MUST fit these guidelines: NO weapons NO blood/gore NO mask If you think your costume might be too hot or uncomfortable, you might think about bringing extra clothes to change into. If you need to take off part of your costume, leave it with your advisory teacher.

12 Spectrum Academy Expectations: Morning Activities
Each advisory teacher will host a fun activity You will spend 20 minute with your OWN advisory teacher and their activity in the morning. Then, you will get to choose another activity to go to. You will get to go to 4 total morning activity rooms. No more than about 15 people can be in a room at one time, so you might get turned away for one rotation if a room is full. Choose your activity rooms quickly. Once you have chosen, you may not change.

13 Spectrum Academy Expectations: Lunch
On Halloween, we will be eating lunch in our advisory classrooms You will be able to go get a hot lunch/go use the microwaves if you need to You will be able to go outside to play

14 Spectrum Academy Expectations: Afternoon
After lunch, we will have our party time. There are many options for you. Gym: Dance Movie: 203 Movie: 242 You can try out different rooms. However, if you are spending more time in the hallway than in the rooms, you will lose your freedom to choose rooms.

15 Dance Social Rules In Middle School and High School, boys and girls can dance together. Often, people all dance in a big group (even on slow dances!). It’s ok to dance alone, too. It’s ok to come to the dance and just hang out– you don’t HAVE to dance. If there are snacks at the dance, you should only eat/drink a little. Remember that there are many others wanting a snack. If you eat, clean up after yourself! Be accountable! Usually, we can only play the songs that we have pre-approved. We have to make sure they are appropriate. You can make requests, but usually we can only play those songs NEXT time, after we find a clean version of the songs.
