2 Current Situation In February 2016 a number of Senior Citizen
Groups were at critical point and experiencing difficulty in maintaining incorporation. Clayton Seniors Citizens Mulgrave Senior Citizens Oakleigh Senior Citizens

3 Opportunity for Council
What is Councils role? How can we work together? Where is the future heading? Are these groups sustainable? Current model OR alternative model How can we support these groups?

4 The HUB Can council support these groups to exist and
expand with Council support? Solution: - Seniors Hub NO longer need to be an incorporated club; No more minutes, AGM, applying for Council grants Focus on the ‘fun stuff’ – leave the administration, planning and resourcing up to Council

5 The Seniors HUB Movement
As a result, Council can: Support the group support with staffing, culturally vibrant community meal and running activities in the HUB and; Support members if they require additional Support: transport; Additional in the home support if requested (refer to My Aged Care and provide support with the process)

6 Additional Benefits Existing Council PAG groups
Transition the smaller existing PAG groups into the HUB space Advertise and build the HUB’s into a vibrant community space: Local advertising (current HACC Clients); New clients via MAC Potential commercial opportunity post 2019

7 Challenges Change Resources
Smaller PAG groups & existing Seniors group members are resistant to change Ongoing trust and relationship building Resources All these changes to be implemented within existing resources
