4 The Habitat of Black Rhinoceros
Do you know where the Black Rhinoceros lives ? I would like to tell you where the Black Rhinoceros lives. It makes its home in the sub-Saharan part of Africa. It lives in the bushy part of Africa or by the river.

5 The Survival of The Black Rhinoceros
The Black Rhinoceros is a very large animal but that does not mean that it can’t run fast. It is nearsighted but it can hear and smell really well. If it senses danger it runs as fast as it can to get away.

6 Interesting Facts About
The Black Rhino likes to take mud baths to keep cool. When it comes out of the mud it looks black. That is probably how it got its name. When the Dutch settled in East Africa they named the rhino “weit” which means wide, but the English settlers thought that it meant white.

7 Life Cycle Every 2 to 3 years the mom gives birth to one baby at a time. When it is born the baby weighs 90 pounds already! It will become an adult by the time it is 7 years old.

8 Prey The Black Rhinoceros eats leaves. It also likes to eat shrubs and grass. The Black Rhinoceros does not eat animals. It only likes plants.
