1. Static Eraser for ESD protection
Q..What is ESD and its effects?
Ans. Due to rubbing of insulators/non metal/ dress material/ polymer bags with each other, static voltage from 5KV to 20KV is generated. This High Voltage damage the components like MOS, CMOS, MOS-FETS, HYBRIDS, Flash ICs. The Mobile sets may behave erratically or the set may fail within 20 day, and Customer may come back as repeat failure.
We have developed a Static Eraser as shown below, which will remove the static charge (ESD) in the workshop area of ASC/ASPs. Put this machine in the repair table in the workshop and switch it ON.
One such Eraser needs to be kept, in every Room, wherever Handset is being opened. In case ASC has separate Store, ASC is adviced not to open antistatic Cover of the PCB in store, bring it as it is on the working Table and then work.
The ESD Mat and Wrist straps are required to be used as shown in the figure, but Separate Ground Wire fixed in the ground is not necessary.
