Salvador A. Cuadra, MD, Frank T. Padberg, MD, Roger E. Turbin, MD, Jeffrey Farkas, MD, Larry P. Frohman, MD  Journal of Vascular Surgery  Volume 42, Issue 4, Pages (October 2005) DOI: /j.jvs Copyright © 2005 The Society for Vascular Surgery Terms and Conditions

2 Fig 1 Funduscopic examination demonstrating (A) left optic disc swelling (B) resolution of optic disc swelling after permanent occlusion of the brachial-internal jugular graft. Journal of Vascular Surgery  , DOI: ( /j.jvs ) Copyright © 2005 The Society for Vascular Surgery Terms and Conditions

3 Fig 2 Contrast arteriogram demonstrating (A) abnormal, delayed cerebral venous outflow and (B) normal cerebral venous flow after compression of the brachial-internal jugular graft. 4 Fig 3 Magnetic resonance venogram after permanent graft occlusion shows the absence of venous hypertension, occlusion of the right subclavian vein, and interval occlusion of right internal jugular vein proximal to the graft (A). Schematic representation details retrograde arteriovenous flow into the cerebral venous circulation from a functioning prosthetic graft in the presence of central venous occlusion. The result is intracranial venous hypertension throughout the venous drainage network leading to increased cerebrospinal pressure and ocular symptoms (B). cs, Cavernous sinus; ijv, internal jugular vein; iov, inferior ophthalmic vein; ips, inferior petrosal sinus; iss, inferior sagittal sinus; iv, innominate vein; sov, superior ophthalmic vein; sps, superior petrosal sinus; ss, sigmoid sinus; sss, superior sagittal sinus; sts, straight sinus; sv, subclavian vein; ts, transverse sinus; vg, vein of Galen.
