3 Primary & Secondary Characters Primary Characters carries the weight of the narrative and may described as dynamic or round dynamic = changes in response to the events of the narrative round = fully developed; shows a variety of traits Secondary Characters remains flat or static and appears to serve a function connected to the growth of the primary characters static = stays the same throughout the narrative Flat = one-dimensional, usually showing only one trait

4 One column should be for Primary Characters One column should be for Secondary Characters As a group, list all of the primary and secondary characters you can think of from the novel; categorize the accordingly When thinking of the secondary characters, note what lesson or thematic subject he/she represents Example: Miss Stephanie (gossip and stereotyping) Make a T-chart

5 You will draw a characters name and create a Character Profile Poster that includes the following elements: A picture or graphic representation A physical description from the novel A list of several adjectives describing his or her personality, values and/or motives An explanation of the function he/she serves in advancing the novels plot A quotation about him or her from another character A quotation by him or her that reveals the characters values As a group…
