2 What is the Harlem Renaissance?
The Harlem Renaissance was the name of the artistic, social, and cultural explosion that took place in Harlem from the end of WWI and the mid 30s. During this time Harlem was very cultural drawing many black writers, musicians, artists etc.

3 Famous artists during the Harlem Renaissance
Palmer C. Hayden Palmer was born on January 15, 1890 in Widewater Virginia Archibald J. Motley Archibald was born on October 7, 1891 in New Orleans Aaron Douglas Aaron was born on May 26, 1899 in Kansas

4 Palmer Hayden Palmer Hayden was a American Painter who depicted african american life, landscapes, seascapes and African Influences. He painted in oils, watercolors, and sketched. He was born on January 15, 1890 and died in February of 1973 Slide by: Brandon

5 Zaron Neale Hurston Of Hurston's four novels and more than 50 published short stories, plays, and essays, she is best known for her novel “Their Eyes Were Watching God ”. To add to new versions of her work being published after a coming of interest in her in 1975, her book “ Every Tongue Got to Confess “, a collection of folktales gathered in the s, was published an “After death” after being discovered in the Smithsonian archives.
