2 In the Grain Fields The Pharisees accused Jesus and His disciples of “harvesting” grain Deut. 23:25 gives permission to pick a few heads of grain from a neighbor’s field Jesus uses King David as an example to prove His own innocence

3 In the Synagogue The Pharisees came looking for a reason to accuse Jesus There are many today who go to church for all the wrong reasons Instead of rejoicing over the miracle, the Pharisees discussed how they might be able to harm Jesus

5 Sermon on the Mount Many who are suffering now will receive great rewards in heaven Many who are living the high life at the expense of others will be punished Many times Satan will increase his attacks on a new Christian to discourage him and render him ineffective

6 A Word to Unbelievers We live in the age of “instant gratification”
Woe to those who sell their souls in order to “live it up” while they’re on earth “What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

7 Christian Living These are difficult things that Jesus is teaching
He urges us to overcome evil with good - This can only be done by submitting to the leading of the Holy Spirit “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” (Luke 6:31)
