2 Homework Communication Daily Schedule Birthday Treats Snacks & Dinner
Classroom Management Snacks & Dinner It is extremely important for students to be exposed to reading every night. It you reading to them while they follow along or them reading aloud/silently. This will help your student develop better fluency when reading and help them start building a larger vocabulary. I am assigning reading for 15 minutes every night, however the reading log only requires 4 entries per month, in which the student draws a picture about an assigned topic. This will help your student with reading for a purpose and with reading comprehension. There will also be Language Arts homework assigned through our new curriculum CKLA and Math homework assigned through our new curriculum Eureka. Great new parents: the new math curriculum includes a parent homework helper attached to your student’s homework every night. This will be a great resource to help your student complete their homework each night! We use a classroom daily clip chart to monitor behavior. Students will start every day at “Ready to Learn” and move their clip up or down based upon how they follow expectations and rules. If your student ever moves down during the day they have the opportunity to move their clip back up if they follow the expectations and rules. If students clip up they will receive a classroom dollar, which can be turned in for set rewards. We are also working on building a community so students will be working in teams to collect team tally marks on the board. The team with the most tally marks at the end of the week will receive a treat. Snack time will be at 9:25 and will be fruits or vegetables provided by the cafeteria each day. Dinner will also be provided by the cafeteria at the end of the school day.
