2 NRS Table 5 Employment 2nd quarter after exit: All exiters Employment 4th quarter after exit: All exiters Median earnings: Employed 2nd quarter exiters Secondary credential: All exiters who took all 4 parts of the GED Test Postsecondary credential: exiters who were co-enrolled in postsecondary education, including IET programs (very limited cohort) Includes a different group of participants from those in other NRS Tables Because of follow-up time, participants attended in prior years Other tables include participants from same year only Time lag for reporting up to 1 year after exit: Employment measures must also account for time lag for UI database. Full data will not be reported until the FY2019 report. Use this to show the variety of measures on Table 5 and how it is different than the other NRS Tables. Emphasize the delay in reporting due to student exit and data match.

Us this to show how the measures are listed on Table 5. The Table includes and First PoP (unduplicated) count and a Total PoPs count (duplicated).

4 Data Coverage, by Reporting Year
OCTAE’s PY2017 is our FY2018 Data Coverage, by Reporting Year Emphasize that the report that was just submitted (October 2018) was a partial reporting year. FY2019 will be the first full year of reporting follow-up outcomes.

5 Employment Measure Time Line
For a Learner Exiting in the First Quarter Use this slide to explain the two employment measures. If a student exited in the first quarter of a fiscal year, we check to see if they were employed in the second quarter after exit and the fourth quarter after exit.

6 Second-Quarter Employment and Median Earnings Reporting Time Lines
For Fiscal Years 2019 and 2020 FY2019 FY2020 Due to the time lag, the outcome achievements that are happening in second quarter employment/median earnings right now, the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2019, will not be reported until October Likewise, achievement from FY2020 will not be reported until October 2021.

7 Reporting Fourth-Quarter Employment and Credential Indicator
For a learner exiting the first quarter This slide shows the basics of how the 4th quarter employment and credential attainment indicator works. If a student exits in the first quarter, we check to see if he/she is employed the 4th quarter after exit.

8 Fourth-Quarter Employment and Credential Indicator Reporting Time Lines
2nd half of FY18 1st half of FY19 For Calendar Years 2nd half of FY17 1st half of FY18 1st half of FY17 4th quarter employment and credential indicator outcomes are reported by calendar year. In October 2018, we reported the first two quarters of FY17 (Summer Quarter 2016 and Fall Quarter 2016). Next October, we will report on activity from the 2nd half of FY17 and the first half of FY18.

9 Fourth-Quarter Employment and Credential Indicator Reporting Time Lines
Activity that is happening right now will not be reported until October 2020. For Calendar Years 2nd half of FY18 1st half of FY19 It’s not until October of 2020 that we report activity that is happening right now.

10 Relevancy to You Due to changes in reporting under WIOA, Table 5 is NOT a timely measure of transition activities or successes Programs must provide ongoing activities that demonstrate the local program is promoting postsecondary education, training, and work/career opportunities throughout its assigned service delivery area Documentation of transition activities with students, staff, and partners is critical to support your efforts = Monthly Transition Log Work of Transition Specialists relate strongly to the Basic Career Services Activities detailed in WIOA
