The lighting rod was invented in 1752.

5. Why did the inventor decide to explore this area of interest?
Ben Franklin was inventing a whole lot of stuff. He came across the lighting rod, and it turned out to be a good invention.

6. How did these inventions impact our world and you personally?
It helps me not get struck by lighting. Instead, it will hit the lighting rod unless I’m holding a golf club in the air while it’s lighting.
