BE SPECIFIC using evidence from the documents AND with background information (from class notes) to back up and explain your ideas.

Citation goes AT THE END OF your sentence.

Your conclusion should summarize your main argument.
You can restate your thesis.

4. Example of a PARTIAL Body Paragraph
Immigrants to America in the late 1800s changed American society by adding greater diversity to the nation’s population. In 1854, most immigrants came to America from Germany. By 1907, there was geographic shift in the countries from which immigrants were coming as more traveled from eastern and southern Europe, countries such as Russia and Austria-Hungary (Doc A). America had small populations of people from these countries before the late 1800s. This changed American society by making urban societies more diverse in terms of ethnicity and religion such as Hungarians and Jews. This increased diversity led to a significant mixing of cultures in cities that gave rise to ethnic neighborhoods like “Little Italy” in New York City.
