2. Types of Circuits There are two types of circuits: Series Parallel

Series circuit: an electrical circuits in which the components are arranged one after another in a series.

If that pathway is interrupted, the whole circuit cannot function.

5. Series Circuits The amount of current is the same in all parts.
As you add loads (light bulbs), resistance increases.
This means light bulbs get dimmer as you add them.

6. Parallel Circuit
Parallel Circuit: all parts are arranged so the electrons can flow along more than one path.
Junction point: The point where paths combine.

An interruption or break in the pathway does not affect the other pathways.

Adding more loads does not affect the resistance, so adding more light bulbs does not cause them to glow dimmer.
