1 “God-Honoring Stewardship”
Part 1 (Beauty vs. Ugliness) Genesis 1:28-31

2 When you think of “stewardship” what comes to your mind?
What happens in your heart when the topic of money, time, or being more involved in the church is broached? When it comes to your life experience what do you consider beautiful and what do you consider ugly?

3 For who sees anything different in you?
What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it? 1 Corinthians 4:7

4 God is loving, gracious and good Genesis 1:26-31

5 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

6 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

7 And God blessed them And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

8 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

9 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

10 And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good.
And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

11 God is protective Genesis 2:15-17

12 The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

13 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden,
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

14 Satan’s picture of God is one of jealousy and vengeance
(Satan seeks to flip our belief in what is beautiful and what is ugly) Genesis 3:1-5

15 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

16 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,
but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

17 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

18 What, we as believers in Jesus Christ, consider to be beautiful or ugly will be brought to light before Him. 2 Corinthians 5:6-10

19 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
So we are always of good courage We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

20 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.
Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him.

21 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
