SYNOPSIS This course emphasizes on problem - based learning approach and focuses on developing students’ delivery of speech in oral interactions and presentations. Importance is given on mastery of self-directed learning, team-work, research, oral presentations, reasoning and creativity. This course also enables students to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for conducting and participating in meetings, including writing of meeting documents. Students will also be exposed to interview techniques.

To develop oral and written English language competence for use in a wide range of contexts. To cultivate collaboration among people of various cultures and professional backgrounds. To develop lifelong learning skills for continuous personal and professional development. UWB Effective Communication GOALS At the end of this course, you should be able to: Describe communication in the written form. Participate actively in meetings using appropriate meeting conventions. Write relevant meeting documents using accurate language and format. Design an effective brochure for promotional purposes. Conduct interviews using appropriate procedure and language.
