2. “The foundation for the community forest agreement program was developed by the Ministry of Forests and stakeholders interested in creating opportunities for greater participation by communities and First Nations in the management of local forests”

3. What are community forests?
“Any forestry operation managed by a local government, community group, or First Nation for the benefit of the entire community” (province of B.C.)

4. Through the “Forestry Revitalization Plan” and timber allocation, the BC government is dedicated to diversifying the forest economy and creating new opportunities.
Approx. 1.2 million cubic metres of timber will be available for small tenures i.e. community forests & woodlots.
