12. Mexican soldiers trapped the Texans in an old mission called the Alamo.

13. After 12 days of fighting, the Mexican soldiers had 1,800 men charge the Alamo
The Texans then ran out of ammunition!

17. When the Mexican soldiers took the Alamo, all but 5 Texans had fought to the death.
A total of 183 Texas defenders were killed in the battle .
