2. FIBONACCI Beginning with a single pair of rabbits, if every month
each productive pair bears a new pair, which becomes
productive when they are 1 month old,
how many rabbits will there be after n months?

Italian mathematician who lived
during the 12th century.
It occurs in nature, modelling the
population growth in rabbits,
and also the development
of the spiral in a snail's shell.

4. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21,… How do I get from one term to the next?
Look at every third number, what do you notice?
Look at every fourth number, what do you notice?
What about every fifth number?

5. Write on your whiteboards the first 6 terms of
the sequences with the term to term rules:
The first term is 3 and the rule is ‘add 3’
The first term is 4 and the rule is ‘add 4’
Start at 2 and count on in steps of 0.5
Start at 2 and count back in steps of 3
First term is 1 and the rules is ‘multiply by 2’
The first term is 20 and the term-to-term
rule is ‘subtract 3’
