Accuracy Coverage - Missing Values Geographical level - Strange Values Distribution by domain Frequency of series Clarity Length of series - Metadata availability Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

7 Relevance How often the database is consulted is a measure
of relevance for users and their needs Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

8 Number of monthly extractions per day form Euro-IND and Shorties
Relevance Number of monthly extractions per day form Euro-IND and Shorties Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

9 Completeness The domains included in the database should reflect needs and priorities of users Five key elements have been chosen: Coverage → # of series Geographical level → # of countries and aggregates Distribution by domain → % in domains Frequency of series → % of Y/Q/M series Length of series → % length classes Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

10 Completeness Coverage of the Euro-IND database
Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

16 Accuracy Based on “missing values”
Series with missing values (October 2008): 1.3% of the total available series and “strange values” Series with strange values (October 2008): % % over % of total available series Eurostat – Unit D1 Key indicators for the European policies

17 Clarity (more on that in Doc 232-a/08)
