For any relationship-specific analysis (e.g. correlation, regression) or even construct descriptive statistics, it is necessary to first fine the mean score of the relevant constructs. The procedure in SPSS is as follow:

Identify the items of the constructs. In this case let assume
JOB SATISFACTION (5 items) TRUST IN LEADER (7 items)

2. Go to Transform and select Compute variable

1. Define the new variable name 2. Select the function “MEAN”
3. Write the function expression as shown by double-clicking on every item of the construct 1. Define the new variable name 2. Select the function “MEAN” 4. Last step

Crosstabs Crosstabs or Cross-tabulations is a technique used to assess two categorical variables’ relationship There must be 2 categorical variables and Two or more categories (groups) for every variable. The variables can be nominal, ordinal or scale BUT must have limited amount of groups
