Registering SRs and MAs in PROSPERO should  reduce unplanned duplication of systematic reviews and provide transparency in the review process with the aim of minimizing reporting bias.

This group recently launched a Data Extraction Resource (GINDER) to present and share data extracted from individual studies in a standardized template.
PROSPERO and GINDER are complementary tools to enhance collaboration between guideline developers and systematic reviewers to allow for alignment of activities and a reduction in duplication of effort.

9. PRISMA-P (Moher et al., 2015)
Investigators should prepare a review protocol in advance of registering it in PROSPERO so that details requiring further consideration may be thought through in advance, avoiding the need for multiple amendments to registration information.
PRISMA-P items were derived largely from the PRISMA checklist and items of the PROSPERO register, in order to facilitate seamless registration.

Syntheses of SRs are becoming increasingly common, both within and outside the Cochrane Collaboration.
These syntheses have a variety of names, including ‘umbrella reviews,’ ‘overviews of reviews,’ and ‘meta-reviews.’
Each of these terms has its adherents and has been used in recent publications.
