4 The Resurrection According to the Bible Jesus was placed in his tomb on Friday afternoon. On Sunday female followers went to the tomb to prepare Jesus’ body for proper burial. The body of Jesus was nowhere to be found and word got back to Jesus’ disciples. At the tomb the women are told that Jesus is risen and they should pass on this ‘good news’.
