2 Second Semester – Policy Reminders
No late work accepted If you have an absence, a plan will be determined with me Come prepared on test days. Bring a pencil, calculator, scratch paper I will no longer allow you to go back to your locker to get materials after the bell has rung Review quizzes will be narrowed down to specific sections and you will be notified of these sections in advance. 80% is the goal. Your Bloom’s Taxonomy Chart will be a place to earn tickets for the end of the year raffle Improvement will be a sub-category of classwork points. It will be worth 100 points. To earn all 100 points, you need to maintain your homework percentage from last semester or improve it.

Common Application One application that is sent to multiple schools that you choose. Application per School Most applications have the following for you to complete GPA ACT Score (SAT or PSAT scores) Extra-curriculars Jobs Volunteer Hours Personal Essays Honors/Awards Recommendations Major

4 year college 2 year college – transfer Special accommodations Baking COD, Waubonsee According to each community college there might be a program like 3 year 1 year program Look at big universities and community colleges nearby…there may be programs like UIUC and Parkland (take one class at UIUC for a semester, all the rest at Parkland…or 1 year 3 year program…also allows students to live on UIUC campus so they don’t miss out on the big campus feel)

Average tuition for public schools in Illinois is about $13,984 per year. Average tuition for private schools in Illinois is about $26,072 per year. For more specific college tuition, you can check each college website.

9 Financial Structure – Cost of Attendance
However, tuition is just a piece of the cost of college. Fees ($3,000) Room & Board ($10,000 or higher) Books & Supplies (roughly $1000) Other Expenses (Transportation, Personal Expenses, etc.) ($3,000 or higher) In total, you are approximately paying 31,000 for in- state schools and $43,072 for private schools in Illinois per year.

Private Scholarships OHS Library for local scholarships Fastweb.com, scholarships.com University/College Scholarships Financial Need Academic Athletic Scholarships can range from value awarded and eligibility. However, most ask for similar information as the college application, and may have more specific questions aligning with their goals as a scholarship foundation.
