A theological term used by some scholars to explain imputation [being credited]
Not clearly set out in the Bible, but implied
Adam is the federal head, or representative, of humanity
All of humanity is considered guilty because Adam is our representative

Jesus' righteousness is “imputed” to sinners when they accept Christ as Saviour
All who believe in Him and are then brought into right relationship with God
Not through works but solely through the grace of God

He must be near of kin.
He must be able to redeem
He must be free to redeem
He must be willing to redeem
Redemption was completed
when the price was completely paid
