Survey on the needs of the school community Network of Ministries and Agencies Awareness talks on services offered to parents One to one meeting between partners and parents in school premises Regular evaluation of impact A Parents Section (names, occupation, contact nos.) highest education attained, siblings and their education/occupation) B Home environment & housing conditions (type of house, whether they own the house, amenities available etc) C Health Information : Medical history of the child D Financial support (income, social aid) E Parental support in education of the child (meeting with teacher) F Health Information: Medical history of the family G Child Conditions (attendance, interest in school, integration in the class etc) School Plus Programme

4 B. Achievements Survey conducted in five schools
A profile of parental needs drawn A Ministerial Committee meets yearly A Technical Committee meets quarterly Awareness talks started in three schools Case officers are working on individual needs In all 320 primary schools in the Republic of Mauritius: GS 223, Aided (RCA,HEA) : 53, Private :44 Min of Education chairs the meeting, Min. of Gender equality and child development, Min of Social Security, Min of Health Technical ctee comprises representatives of these ministries School Plus Programme

Working on a wide range of needs Getting different Ministries and Agencies to work collaboratively Quick response to needs/long procedures Visibility/credibility of actions School Plus Programme
